POSITION TITLE
Career Services Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY
The Career Center Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Coker University Career Center and will assist students, alumni, and employers in accessing career resources and services. This role involves coordinating workshops and events, maintaining career-related resources, and serving as a point of contact for career development inquiries. The coordinator plays a key role in fostering student career readiness and strengthening employer engagement to set students up for success in their professional career.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of career-related workshops, employer visits, job fairs, and other events.
- Assist students and alumni with job search resources, resume reviews, and use of career center platforms (e.g., Handshake).
- Maintain and update job and internship postings, bulletin boards, and digital career resources.
- Serve as a liaison between employers and the college, supporting employer outreach and on-campus recruiting efforts.
- Partner with faculty to ensure students are gaining the technical skills, capabilities and soft skills needed for employment and/or graduate school.
- Track and report student engagement, employer contacts, and event attendance using the career services database.
- Promote career center services through email, social media, and campus collaborations.
- Support development of career readiness materials and resources for diverse student populations.
- Partner with the Coker Student Experience team to implement career readiness each year.
- Provide administrative support including managing office communications, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years relevant experience in Higher Education, Business, Human Resources, or related field.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize
- Highly developed project management skills
- Effective relationship building/partnering and teamwork skills
- Strong advising/coaching skills
- Strong customer/client service focus
- Verbal and written communication skills - including public speaking/presentation skills
- Analytical/problem-solving ability
EDUCATION
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in career services, student affairs, or employer relations
- Familiarity with career platforms such as Handshake
- Event coordination experience.
