JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE

Institutional Reporting and Data Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the VP for Institutional Effectiveness, the Institutional Reporting Coordinator and Data Analyst coordinates the completion of institutional reports as well as the College's institutional research activities, supporting institutional effectiveness, enrollment management, grant support, planning, and accreditation activities. The Analyst supports quality improvement by working with decision-makers across the University to enhance the understanding, collection, and use of data in decision-making. This position works closely with the Student Success and Enrollment Management Teams.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Compliance

  • Collect, verify, and submit data requested by external stakeholders including all state and federal reports.
  • Coordinate the completion of reports and provide data and support for extramural grants and external organizations (NCAA, TRIO, NC-SARA, NSF, etc.)
  • Provide support related to compliance with federal regulations for international students

Internal Decision Support

  • Collect and analyze data to support assessment, student success and retention, policy formation, and accreditation efforts
  • Extract data to support Program Reviews, including items such as the number of majors, number of graduates, and course enrollment
  • Create, analyze, and distribute college-wide data collection instruments, including annual student surveys as well as various ad hoc surveys
  • Clearly interpret and explain data to stakeholders
  • Prepare and publish retention and graduation reports
  • Create and operationalize a training process for new and current employees on how to create reports
  • Support the VP of Institutional Effectiveness in building an annual calendar to share data with campus regarding student success metrics

Assessment

  • Work with administrative and academic areas to prepare and submit annual assessment reports
  • Assist Program Coordinators in evaluating student learning and achievement data to advance equitable outcomes
  • Manage the process for student evaluations of instruction
  • Provide support for the General Education Committee for assessment of college-wide learning outcomes

Accreditation

  • In coordination with the VP of Institutional Effectiveness, manage the institution's accreditation process, ensuring compliance with SACSCOC standards and policies
  • Coordinate the preparation and ensure the timely submission of SACSCOC reports and documents
  • Provide support for all accreditation initiatives and institutional reports, including working with the respective Deans on programmatic accreditation reports
  • Provide data compilation in preparation for accreditation review
  • Maintain student achievement data on the Coker website

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, master's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant experience working in data analysis, assessment, or accreditation
  • Ability to maintain records, work with databases, extract data from student information systems, and prepare reports.
  • Experience with data visualization products such as Informer, PowerBi, or Tableau will be advantageous.
